When Franklin was first brought to Prairie Paws Animal Shelter as a stray, he did not play well with others. His constant quivering around other dogs and scars on his face might have been the result of being attacked by animals or cruel abuse by people. Of course, he couldn’t tell us if he was born homeless—a rough start for any dog—or if he was abandoned after once knowing the comforts of home. But one thing was clear: Franklin needed help fast. It was the only way this dog was going to recover from his trauma and be adopted.
